Business Data Analyst

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Business Data Analyst to support the design, development, and evolution of a strategic data platform. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into functional specifications and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable data solutions. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, data management expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do on a Daily Basis

Gather and analyze requirements from business stakeholders, data owners, and regulatory teams.
Translate business needs into functional specifications (user stories, acceptance criteria, data model diagrams).
Create and maintain documentation (requirements catalog, data dictionary, process maps, test plans).
Facilitate test planning by participating in design test cases.
Communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders through sprint demos, status reports and reviews.
Identify improvement opportunities in the transversal framework, propose enhancements.
Collaborate with the ETL development team to design optimal data flow and transformation logic.
Define, implement, and maintain the data quality framework (rules, thresholds, validation checks).

Your Main Qualifications

Proven professional experience in similar roles.
SQL development skills (Oracle is the DB used).
PL/SQL development skills.
IBM Datastage PX and/or other similar ETL tools.
Agile Project‑Management Tools – Manage backlogs, user stories, and traceability in Jira or Azure DevOps; ensure requirements are linked to test cases and delivery artifacts.
Data Analysis & Visualization – Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), statistical summarization, and create visual insights (Power BI, Tableau, or Excel) to support requirement‐gathering and decision‑making.
Data‑Quality & Profiling Techniques – Use data‑profiling methods to define validation rules, cleansing procedures, and quality‑metric dashboards.
Fluency in both English and Portuguese (written & spoken), proficiency in French is a plus.
